The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are increasing. There are currently 119 active cases of the virus locally. Deaths attributed to the virus have also increased. According to the updated numbers, there have now been 911 deaths attributed to COVID 19 in Imperial County. The COVID 19 Tier Metrics for Imperial County indicate new cases per day per 100,000 population are now at 4.0. The positivity rate, 7 day average in Imperial County is now at 11.1%. The CDC has confirmed COVID cases have increased around the nation, but they say the virus does not appear to be as severe as it once was, at least for relatively healthy people.
