They said the local biotechnology company, Viridos, formerly Synthetic Genomic, had been selected for the highly competitive California Competes Tax Credit to expand its site in Calipatria. Viridos is one of just 8 awardees selected during this round of funding.IVEDC assisted in the application process. Viridos CEO Dr. Oliver Fetzer said Viridos was honored to be selected by the State of California and Governor Newsom to receive this distinguished grant. Te California Competes Tax Credit program is an initiative offered to attract companies to locate in the state, or provide incentive for them to remain in the state.
