(Stand-off Sunday in Calexico)....It lasted for about 5 hours.

Police received a call from an apartment in the 1000 block of 4th Street. Police arrived, and found gunshot holes in the side of the Apartment complex.. They officers called the number Identified as the number that had called the police to report the incident. Police then request assistance from the El Centro Police Department and the Border Patrol Border Tactical Unit. The complex was evacuated. Calexico police established contact with the suspect involved. After about five hours the occupants of the apartment, two females and the suspect, exited the apartment. The suspect, identified as 28 year old Ernest Martin Torres the 3rd, was taken into custody. He was booked into County Jail on multiple felony violations. Police say the suspect was arguing with his girlfriend, and produced a firearm, firing five rounds inside the bedroom. No one was injured in the incident.
