A U.S. citizen wanted by Riverside County authorities was arrested Wednesday afternoon.

The 30-year-old man was driving on Interstate 8 when Border Patrol agents stopped his car. A search of the car discovered a 12-guage shotgun, an unregistered 9mm pistol, two BB guns, a loaded 9mm magazine and three boxes of ammunition. Agents also found out the man had an active warrant issued by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. He was turned over to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office. A passenger in the car, a 34-year-old Mexican citizen, a Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident, was released without charges.
