According to the report released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department, the unemployment rate for Imperial County was 14% in February, down from a revised 15.6% in January of this year, and below the year ago estimate of 17.4%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.8% for the state and a 4.1% for the nation during the same period. Imperial County in February surpassed Colusa County and no longer has the highest unemployment rate in the state. During last month there were 9,900 eligible workers unemployed out of a Labor Force of 70,500.
