(COVID 19 update)....Updated numbers released Tuesday morning.
The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are now at 86, down from the 119 cases reported last week. The low numbers are attributed to the high vaccination rate in Imperial County. The vaccination rate in Imperial County is now at 94.2%, still the highest in the state, and 4.1% higher than Marin County, with the second highest vaccination rate in the state. The state metrics for Imperial County positivity rate, 7 day average is now at 5.9%. New cases per day per 100,000 population is now at 5.80. There have been 697 cases of the Omicron Variant reported in Imperial County since December 2021. There have been 1,189 cases of the Delta variant reported in Imperial County since December 2020. On the downside, there have been 905 deaths in Imperial County attributed to the virus, up from the 894 reported last week.
