The Imperial County June Statewide Primary Election ballot is set.
The primary election will be held June 7, 2022. According to the Imperial County Elections Department there were several local races that saw the filing period extended from Friday, March 11, 2022, to Wednesday, March 16, 2022, since the incumbents had not filed for reelection. Those races are now complete. There were no changes in the IID Division 2 race. Incumbent James Hanks did not file for reelection and there are four candidates vying for the seat. Don C. Campell, Ramon Castro, Gina N. Dockstader and Maria Nava-Froelich. Sheriff Ray Loera did not file for reelection and Fred Miramontes and Hilton Smith will be on the ballot. No additional candidate filed for the Office of District Attorney so it will be George Marquez, Jason Amavisca, Mario Vela and Edgard Garcie on the June ballot. Karina B. Alvarez will be unopposed for Auditor-Controller and Suzanne Bermudez is the only name on the ballot for Treasurer-Tax Collector.
