A traffic accident closed Even Hewes Highway Friday afternoon.

The accident on West Even Hewes Highway was reported at about 1:00 p.m. A vehicle struck a utility pole and knocked down the pole and left wires dangling. The highway was closed between Austin and Forrester Roads to allow AT&T crews on scene to repair the damage. The closure was expected to last at least until midnight.
