(CBP Officer convicted in Federal Court)....Marcos Valenzuela was charged with using unreasonable force and obstructing justice.
He was working at the Calexico Port at the time the offenses occurred. The Federal Jury reached their verdict Wednesday. The charges said Valenzuela had used unreasonable force on an individual who had applied for admission to the United States from Mexico. Evidence at the trial included surveillance video and witness testimony. It occured at the Calexico West Port of Entry on August 16, 2019. Valenzuela could face up to ten years in prison and be fined up to $250,000. Sentencing has been set for July 8.
