(New 3 year contract approved)....The vote was not unanimous.

This week the County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to approve the contract with Miguel Figueroa. The Calexico City Manager had already agreed to the contract after the Board named him as the new County Executive Officer. Figueroa replaces Tony Rouhotas as the permanent CEO. He starts in April. The vote to name Figueroa as the new CEO and the contract to go with the position were not unanimous. District 4 Supervisor Ryan Kelley and District 5 Supervisor Ray Castillo both voted no on both questions.
