(Quechan Tribal Members claiming victory)...The Gold Mine Company are dropping plans for Indian Pass.

They are viewing the decision as a major Indigenous victory. The Tribal members and their supporters are celebrating the victory in their fight to save Indian Pass from a controversial gold mine project proposed by Kore Mining. Located about 30 miles North of Winterhaven and Yuma, Indian Pass has enormous cultural and sacred significance to the Quechan and other indigenous people in the region. The company withdrew plans to conduct exploratory drilling for potential mining in the Indian Pass area following determined oppostion from the Quechan Tribe, the Ahmut Pipa Foundation, a tribal member organization, Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice, and local and national allies. The Bureau of Land Management confirmed the companies decision.
