(COVID cases continue to trend downward)...County Public Health Department releases updated COVID 19 numbers.

They were released Tuesday morning. According to the new numbers, there are currently 444 active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County. That is down from the 528 active cases reported last week. There are still 42 COVID positive patients hospitalized in the county. 8 of those are in Intensive Care. 18 ventilators are in use countywide. State Metrics for Imperial County, 7 day average at 14%. New cases per day per 100,000 population now at 28.60. There have been 348 cases of the Omicron variant reported in the county since December 2021. There have been 1,182 cases of the Delta variant reported in the county since 2020. Deaths attributed to the virus are now at 869, up from the 861 reported last week. The total number of COVID vaccine doses administered in the county are now at 421,111
