El Centro Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

A 2006 Ford Mustang knocked down a street sign, destroyed a fence and smashed into a tree. The accident happened at 8th and Woodward. The car landed in the front yard after rolling over. The Mustang sustained major damage. The driver was seen fleeing the scene on foot.
