(Hilton Smith getting ready to kick-off his campaign)...An event will be held Saturday.

He will be running for Imperial County Sheriff on the June ballot. The event will be held at the Imperial County Superior Courthouse on Main Street in El Centro. It starts at 12 noon. Smith says he will launch with a host of Social Justice Speakers. Current Sheriff Ray Loera has said he will not seek re-election in June. The only other announced candidate for Sheriff on the June ballot is Fred Miramontes.
