(County Coroner releases victim's I.D.).....The victim was struck by a semi earlier this month.

The incident happened near Desert Shores. Investigators say William Bell of San Diego was within the traffic lanes of Northbound Highway 86 when he was struck by the Big Rig, driven by a Calexico man. The victim's age was not released, he was described as an elderly man. Investigators have not determined why the man was walking in the traffic lanes before being hit.
