(Fire Departments around the county are remembering Rudy Medina)...County Fire Chief Alfredo Estrada Jr. made the announcement.

He said Rudy Medina was the first Fire Chief of the Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services. Rudy Medina was County Fire Chief from 1963 to 1980. Estrada said the former Chief is credited with being the cornerstone of the emergency services in Imperial County, laying the departments foundation to what it is now. The current Chief said his department will be honoring Rudy Medina in the next few days.
