(NAF El Centro says the base is a go for in-person Festival of Flight)....The Naval Air Facility made the announcement Wednesday morning.

It will bve held March 12. Officials said they were planning for an in-person Festival of Flight, in a COVID compliant setting. Thgey said COVID mitigations aligned with local, state and federal guidelines will be in effect to ensure everyone who decides to attend will be protected. Some of these measures will mirror the efforts of the Imperial County Fair and include masking indoors, strongly recommending vaccination and encouraging people to wear their masks on the airfield. Alan Davis, the base emergency management officer, says single use masks and hand sanitizer will be available to the public In addition to a performance by the Blue Angels, there will be other military and civilian flight demonstrations, a car show, static displays, and live music and fireworks. All the details have not been finalized, and the base is working to create a website and an official Facebook Event Page to release information and details as they develop.
