(Sheriff Oren Fox died Monday)....The General was 86.

The cause of death is not known. Oren Fox served as Sheriff for Imperial County for 20. He was appointed interim Sheriff from 1974-75. In 1979 he was elected to the position, and served until 1999. Fox also served  over 30 years in the Army National Guard, retiring as a General. Fox was born in Arkansas in 1935. His family moved to Brawley when he was 14. Fox Graduated from Brawley Union High School, before studying Criminal Justice at Imperial Valley College. He joined Imperial County Sheriff's Office in 1962. His wife Doris passed away in 2019. They had 4 children. Services have not been announced.
