The new numbers were released Tuesday morning. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are at 1,160. That is down from the 1,510 reported last week. Deaths attributed to the virus are now at 859, up from 852 reported previously. The number of COVID positive patients hospitalized in Imperial County are now at 73, down from the 94 reported last week. There are 25 COVID positive patients in Intensive Care countywide. There are 2 ICU beds available in the County. There are 42 ventilators in use at both local hospitals. The State Metrics for Imperial County indicate a positivity rate, 7 day average of 29%. New cases per day per 100,000 population are at 90.10. 177 cases of the Omicron variant have been reported in Imperial County. 1,174 cases of the Delta Variant have been reported since 2020. Total COVID vaccine doses administered countywide are now close to 406,000
