A big rig overturned late Tuesday afternoon

The accident occurred at about 5:20 p.m. on the Borrgo Salton Seaway west of State Route 86. The accident resulted in a fatality and authorities expect an extended closure of the road. Few other details are available as th accident remains under investigation.
