A pursuit that began with California Highway Patrol officers ended in El Centro early Saturday.

El Centro Police became involved when the pursuit entered the city southbound on 8th Street at about 1:30 a.m. The pursuit ended a short time later in an El Centro residential neighborhood when the suspected driver of the car was located trying to hide in a backyard. The suspected driver was arrested by CHP officers and is facing mutable charges.
