(Volunteers to count the homeless)...The annual count is later this month.

The Imperial Valley Continuum of Care is looking for volunteers. They need the volunteers to count and interview Imperial County's homeless population The US Department of Housing and Urban Development uses the count as a key factor to determine Imperial County's funding eligibility for housing programs. The counting starts January 28th aat 5:30 in the morning until 10:30 am. It covers all of Imperial County. On January 29th the count focus's on Slab City from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
