Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed Randy Grossman as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California.
Grossman is no stranger to the job since he has served as acting U. S. Attorney for the District since the resignation of Robert S. Brewer in February of 2021. Grossman was administered the oath of office on December 26, 2021 and will serve for an interim period of 120 days or until a Presidential appointee is confirmed, whichever comes first. Grossman became an Assistant United States Attorney in September of 2020. The Southern District of California encompasses San Diego and Imperial Counties.
