The I-8/Imperial Avenue interchange is now fully operational.

On Tuesday afternoon officials from Caltrans and the County of Imperial and City of El Centro celebrated the reopening of the east bound on- and off-ramps. The reopening comes after a two-year project to redesign the interchange and allow for the extension of imperial Avenue south of the freeway.
