The report was released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. The Unemployment Rate for November was at 15.5%, down from a revised 17.7 % in October, and below the year ago estimate of 16.4%. This compares to an unadjusted unemployment rate of 5.4% for the state and 3.9% for the nation during the same period. According to the report, there were 10,500 eligible workers unemployed in November out of a Labor Force of 68,000. Despite the positive numbers, Imperial County still had the highest unemployment in the state. The only other county with double digit unemployment was Colusa County with an unemployment rate of 10.3%.
