School officials locked down Calexico High School Friday.
The lock down came after an Anonymous Tip Line caller said they had received a text message saying that " a student may be armed and that a possible incident would take place at the Calexico High School math building". A lock down was immediately installed by the school administration and Calexico Police were notified. Parents were also notified by the district's REMIND app regarding the situation. The building was searched and police determined that the call was a hoax. No firearms or weapons were located at the school.
Nationwide , schools were on alert due to a social media post on Tic Tok encouraging students to call in schools with information regarding unspecified and general threats about gun violence. The incident is under investigation.
