The Yuma County Sheriff's Office ( YCSO ) is investigating the attempted robbery of an employee of the International Boundary and Water Commission.

According to YCSO , two employees of the federal agency were working along the Colorado River when one of them was confronted by three men. The subjects, armed with a firearm, demanded the worker give them his money and his boat. The second worker, who had been working on a nearby pump, returned to the area and upon seeing the second worker the suspects retreated to Mexico. The incident remains under investigation.
