(Active cases of COVID 19 increase).....The latest numbers were released Tuesday morning.

The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are now at 477. That is up from the 418 cases reported last Thursday. There are 44 COVID positive patients hospitalized, 14 of those are in Intensive Care. There are now 635 cases of the Delta Variant, since the variant was first encountered in Imperial County. The Health Department says the majority of those cases are unvaccinated. Many of them are asylum Seekers. State Metrics for Imperial County in dicate a positivity rate, 7 day average at 9.4%. New Cases per day per 100,000 population is at 23.40. The Health Department says over 288,000 doses of COVID vaccine have been administered countywide.
