An El Centro resident reported that they had been scammed.

The resident told police that they were victims of a rental scam. Apparently the resident found a house for rent on Craig's List and sent a $2,300 deposit for the house by the Zelle App. The supposed owner of the property than disappeared and has not responded to any text messages.
