(Brawley's Measure U has not officially been decided)...Voters in Brawley were being asked to continue the 4%  utility tax.

They were also asked to make the tax permanent, with no sunset clause. The latest numbers indicate voters are saying yes to both issues. According to the latest update 1,256 have voted yes to measure U. That is 54.49% of the votes cast. There are 1,049 No votes, or 45.51% of the votes cast. The County Elections Department say these are the latest numbers and are not the official final count. There has been no estimate as to when to expect the official tally. The Utility tax helps fund virtually all services provided by the City of Brawley.
