After being closed for nearly a year , the westbound Interstate 8 at Imperial Avenue on- and off-ramps will open Thursday.

The bridge and eastbound ramps will remain closed as work continues on that portion of the project. The reconstructed Imperial Avenue bridge and the east bound on- and off-ramps are expected to open in January of 2022. The project will allow for the extension of Imperial Avenue south of the interstate. Construction began in April of last year. Partial lane closures on I-8 will continue overnight or during the day as needed for various work near the project
