(New cases continue to surge)....COVID 19 numbers were released Thursday morning.

The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, new cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are now at 473. That is up from  the 452 reported on Tuesday. 16 COVID positive patients are hospitalized. 4 of those are in Intensive Care. There have been 404 Delta Variant cases reported in Imperial County since the variant was first encountered. The State Tier Metrics for Imperial County indicate a positivity rate of 9.5%. New cases per day per 100,000 population is at 23. COVID vaccinations are still encouraged. As of Thursday morning the total doses of COVID vaccine administered in Imperial County are close to 269,000.
