Several traffic stops on Saturday and early Sunday resulted in several arrests.

Shortly after 8:00a.m. Saturday , an Automated License Plate Reader ( LPR ) indicated a stolen car was at the intersection of 8th and Adams in El Centro. A second LPR hit showed the car was eastbound on Adams. El Centro Police officers were able to stop the car and determined that it had been stolen the night before in Palm Springs. The driver was cited and released for auto theft and possession of stolen property. 

At about 11:30 Saturday night a traffic stop in the 400 block of Olive in El Centro resulted in the arrest of an individual. The driver was found to have several outstanding warrants and drugs were found after a canine team alerted to the vehicle. The driver was booked at Imperil County Jail on multiple charges. 

At about 12:50 a.m. Sunday , a traffic stop in the area of Imperial Avenue and Barbara Worth Drive resulted in an arrest. According to El Centro Police , the driver of the car jumped and ran but was detained after a brief foot chase. The driver was charged resisting arrest and was cited and released.
