(Smuggler busted)...It happened recently at the Highway 86 checkpoint, near Salton City.

The Border Patrol says a 2007 Chevy poickup drove up to the checkpoint at around 7:30 in the morning. The vehicle was directed out of the regular lanes for a more detail search. Agents say a Border Patrol K-9 Detection Team alerted to the under carriage of the pickup. The agents used a fiber optic scope to search the fuel tank. They discovered a white slimy substance. The substance tested positive for liquid methamphetamine. The 37 year old driver of the vehicle, the liquid meth and the vehicle were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
