A federal judge says all California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation guards must be vaccinated.

U. S. District Judge Jon Tigar's order covers al of the California State Prison systems Correctional Officers and staff working in prisons. It does allow for medical or religious exemptions. Governor Gavin Newsom and the prison guards union had opposed the order issued by federal receiver J. Clark Kelso and upheld by the recent court ruling.  An appeal is expected. The order also requires that inmates who work outside the prison or want in person visits , must also be vaccinated
