Imperial Police say a man found dead Friday afternoon was murdered.

City of Imperial Police responded to a residence on Wall Road at about 4:16 Friday afternoon. Arriving officers were told by Imperial County Fire Department personnel who were on scene that the man was deceased. Witnesses at the scene said that the victim , 55-year old Frank Contreras , was found with a bag over his head and facial injuries. The death has been ruled a homicide. The Imperial Police Department Investigations Unit is working to develop leads and has requested that anyone with information contact them.
