(Brawley Branding Iron Award)....The Gala was held Friday.

The event was held at the Stockman's Club in Brawley. It is an annual event hosted by the Greater Brawley Chamber of Commerce. The M.C. for the evening was Chamber CEO Ramiro Urias. The theme was Flamenco, A Night In Spain. The Branding Iron Award is the equivalent to a Citizen Of The Year Award. Local Farmer Larry Fleming introduced this year's winner. The award Friday night went to Doctor George Fareed, whose treatment of COVID 19 patients during the pandemic received national and international attention. Receiving an honorable mention was Doctor Brian Tyson, who used a similar protocol as Dr. Fareed in the treatment of his patients. Other Awards went to Maria Dominguez and Ceci Gastelo who picked up Ambassador Awards. The President's Award went to Lee Hindman. The Business Of The Year Award went to Frye Chapel and Mortuary, Former Chamber Executive Officer Katie Luna was recognized for 5 years service to the Chamber.
