U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a U.S. citizen and confiscated over 78 pounds of methamphetamine.

Saturday morning at about 9:05 a.m. an SUV approached the Highway 86 checkpoint near Salton City. The vehicle was referred to secondary inspection where a Borer Patrol K-9 Team alerted to both the driver and passenger sides of the SUV. Agents then located 78 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the floorboards of the vehicle. The driver , a 55-year old U. S. citizen was arrested. The meth has an estimated value of over $215,000.
