(Traditional Grito)...It is a Mexican tradition.
It is how Mexico marks their Independence. Mexico's Independence day is September 16. The Grito De Dolores is held just before midnight on September 15. This year the tradition was a bit different. The Governor of Baja California delivered the Grito in the Centro Civico, but because of the COVID situation, the public was not invited. There was public participation at Mexicali's Fiesta del Sol. The Mayor of Mexicali Guadalupe Mora also delivered the Grito at the fair with public participation. They also sang patriotic songs. It was a subdued celebration, but a celebration all the same.
