(Two structures damaged by fire)....The fire was reported at 7:40 Thursday morning.

Fire crews were called to the 800 block of Brighton. Fire fighters found two structures on the same lot. The two alarm fire damaged both structures. There was an abandoned house and in the back, an occupied apartment. Residents of the apartment were able to evacuate, apparently unharmed. Crews had the fire out within an hour. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
