(Power restored in the North County)...It happened Friday evening.

Imperial Irrigation District said electrical services were fully restored to the transmission corridors located between Calipatria and Niland. A powerful storm swept through the area on August 31st, knocking out 118 power poles and transmission lines. The District says the restoration of the lines facilitates returning to service the remaining geothermal plants impacted by the outage. The work Friday was completed by multiple line crews without incurring any injuries while performing dangerous work. The mutual aid crews departed over the weekend, returning to their respective states and home utilities.
