(The CHP Holiday Enforcement Period).....It ends at 11:59 tonight.

It is the California Highway Patrol's Maximum Enforcement Period. It began at 6:00 Friday evening. It continues throughout the Labor Day Holiday Weekend. During the MEP, the CHP deploys as many Officers as possible to ensure the roadways are as safe as possible. The Highway Patrol says this Holiday Weekend, officers are keeping a special eye out for impaired drivers. They say motorist should be aware an impaired driver is not only under the influence of alcohol. Impairment could be caused by illegal drugs, marijuana or even prescription drugs. During the MEP, the CHP enforces zero tolerance for traffic violations.
