(Border Patrol Rescues close to 300)...The numbers are for this fiscal year

. Since October, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have successfully rescued 275 individuals lost or in distress. The latest rescue included a group of 8. There were four adults and four juveniles, all nationals of Honduras. They had called the police in Mexicali after they entered the US illegally and become lost in the Jacumba Wilderness region. Mexicali Police notified the El Centro Border Patrol Station. Agents working the area were notified, as was the Air and Marine Operations out of Yuma. Also dispatched was the El Centro Sector Horse Patrol Unit. Within minutes the Yuma Based helicopter spotted the group. The Horse Patrol Unit was called in and the rescued the group, leading them out of the wilderness to awaiting vehicles. They were transported to the El Centro Station where they were processed.
