(Mutual Aide Requested)....A Strike Team left Tuesday morning.

The team departed Imperial County at 2:00 in the morning. They have an 800 mile trek to the Monument Fire. The Strike Team includes fire crews from Brawley, Yuma, Holtville and the two state prisons in Imperial County. At last report the Monument Fire had burned 57,000 acres and was 3% contained. A Strike Team is normally deployed for up to two weeks before coming home or fresh firefighters are rotated in.
