In December 2020 El Centro, Imperial, and Westmorland Chambers of Commerce voted in favor of merging to form the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. An executive Board was formed, consisting of two representatives from each respective Chamber. They began meeting weekly to build the foundation of the new entity. Due to COVID, they say it was a slow transition process to officially merge, but they made it. This Sunday, August 1st, El Centro, Imperial and Westmorland Chambers of Commerce will begin operating as the new merged entity of the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce. Daniel Sohn, the Regional Chamber Chief Executive Officer says on September 30th, from 6:00 pm to 9:L00 pm, the Regional Chamber will hold its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the new organization. The event will be open to the public.
