There was another fire in downtown El Centro.

El Centro Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 607 W. Main Street early Wednesday morning. The report was received shortly after midnight and arriving fire fighters found the building , a vacant two-story commercial building  ,  with smoke and signs of fire at the front entrance. The fire was controlled within 20 minutes of the arrival of the first fire units. Fire personnel were able to clear the scene at 1:38 a.m. Mutual aid responded from the Holtville , Calexico , City of Imperial and Imperial County Fire Departments. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
