An SUV was found to contain nearly $300,000 worth of methamphetamine.

The vehicle was at the Border Patrol immigration checkpoint near Salton City Thursday evening when the SUV and driver were referred to secondary inspection. A Border Patrol canine team alerted to the vehicle and a search led to the discovery of two duffel bags stuffed with meth. The drugs weighed nearly 109 pounds and have a street value estimated at over $298,000. The SUV driver , a 26-year old woman , a Legal Permanent Resident  from the Philippines , was arrested and turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
