(Independence Day is rapidly approaching)....Freedom Fest will not happen, due to the pandemic.

No other fireworks show has been announced, yet. That means individuals will be lighting there own fireworks. Most areas around the County will allow safe and sane fireworks, but have ordinaces prohibiting any others. The City of Brawley adjusted their ordinance to increase the penalty for the use of illegal fireworks. There will be a $1,000 fine for those setting off illegal fireworks within the city limits, as well as to the property owner were the illegal fireworks were used. The County ordinance prohibits all fireworks, safe and sane or otherwise. Anyone caught setting off fireworks in the county will be fined up to $500.
