El Centro police detained two people after a pursuit early Saturday morning.

The pursuit began at 1:00 a.m. in the area of 4th and Wake Avenues and reached speeds of 100 mph as Officers chased the car onto Interstate 8 , north on State Route 111 , westbound on Ross Road and ended in the area of Ross and Bass Cove where the driver bailed out. The driver was detained just minutes later as was a woman passenger. The driver was cited for Felony Reckless Evading and released.
