(Attempted Murder in El Centro)...It was reported early Monday morning.

At 1:39 am officers responded to a report of gunshots fired in the 300 block of North Imperial Avenue. Callers reported hearing 3 or 4 gunshots. Once on scene, officers found a Hispanic adult male on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene and then transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center. The victim was later flown to a trauma center, where he was listed in critical condition. Officers and detectives worked throughout the night collecting evidence and processing the scene. No arrests have been made. They say it is an active and ongoing investigation.
